From November 26, the Czech government will impose a state of emergency for a period of 30 days in connection with the situation with the coronavirus, the electronic edition of the newspaper Mlada fronta DNES reported, quoted by FOCUS News Agency.
Acting Prime Minister Andrei Babish confirmed the information. “In the Czech Republic, due to the growing epidemic of COVID-19, there will be another state of emergency. The government decided to introduce it [в страната] at midnight on Thursday against Friday. It will run for 30 days. “
Under Czech law, the government is obliged to immediately inform the Chamber of Deputies (lower house) of the republic’s parliament of the decision to impose a state of emergency. The lower house must support or reject it. In the second case, it loses its power.
Last year, the Czech authorities imposed a state of emergency in the country twice – in the spring and autumn. It was finally repealed on April 11, 2021.
