“The Czech National Team Wins Pro Tour Elite Beach Volleyball Tournament in Uberlandia, Brazil”

The Czech national team won the title in their first participation in this year’s final. So far, their highest finish in the season was fifth place, which they took at the March tournament in Tepic, Mexico. They triumphed at the elite category event for the second time, having succeeded for the first time in 2021 in Doha.

“The crowd was definitely the deciding factor today. We have played against Norwegian opponents many times and lost the last eight or nine matches. Today we got carried away by the atmosphere and finally won,” Perušič thanked the Brazilian fans in an interview on the court. The Czechs met Mol and Sörum in the final for the third time, the Norwegians won both previous duels in Ostrava in 2022 and 2019.

Today, the tournament’s eight players won a balanced opening set in the final with a ratio of 21:19, but lost the second set 15:21 after an unsuccessful middle passage. In the tie-break, the Czech volleyball players decided with a three-point line from the score of 8:8 and never let go of the lead.

In the semi-finals, Perušič and Schweiner went over the third seeded pair Michal Bryl and Bartosz Losiak, who they defeated 2:1 in sets. They defeated the Polish pair for the fourth time in the fifth match against each other. The last time they beat them was in the preliminary round in Tepic.

The Czech representatives did not catch the entrance to the match in the semi-finals and lost the opening set smoothly 13:21. In the second, however, they improved their attack and won an even match 21:19. In the deciding set, Schweiner was on the block and led the Czech pair to victory 15:10.
