The Czech mixed relay team in Lenzerheide did not reach the finish line, the mixed doubles won the 9th place – ČT sport – Czech Television

The beginning of the end of the performance of the Czech relay in the race was the unsuccessful first shot of Eliška Václavíková. She had to recharge three times, but even that wasn’t enough, so she didn’t miss a single penalty round. Although Václavíková was able to move up from 17th place on the following course and passed in 13th place, the time deficit of the Czech relay continued to grow.

Kristýna Otcovská was able to move the Czech quartet one place higher in the second section, to 12th place ahead of Canada, but her successor Ondřej Mánek did not get far. He was overtaken by the Norwegian-German leading duo already at the first shooting, Mánek was withdrawn from the race and Vítězslav Hornig did not get into the action at all.

Thirteen other quartets met the same fate and only nine relay teams reached the finish line. The Germans finished behind sovereign Norway for silver, the Swedish team was third.

Mixed doubles did better

Even Tereza Vinklárková’s entry into the mixed doubles race didn’t work out too well. On her first section, she had to top up three times, passing Tomáš Mikysk only on the 18th place. From that moment on, the Czech duo only rose in the ranking. In total, Vinklárková and Mikyská only had to recharge six times in the entire race, and together they fought their way to ninth place, which they held until the finish line.

Norway celebrated victory in this race as well. Switzerland took the silver this time, and the French pair took third place.
