The Czech juniors are in Paris, three of them will play the French Open quarterfinals

While Czech tennis has no representative among adults since the third round of the French Open, at the junior grand slam it is exactly the opposite. Nikola Bartůňková, Sára Bejlek and Lucie Havlíčková flew to the quarterfinals of the girls’ big four on Wednesday.

Out of nine Czech participants in the junior French Open, three made it into the last eight. The biggest challenge was facing Bartůňková, who eliminated Petra Marčinková, the number one and the biggest favorite for the overall victory. However, the I.ČLTK player lost to her 7: 6 and 7: 5.

Havlíčková also succeeded when she won against the German qualifier Joelle Steurová only in the third set. Bejlek, on the other hand, smoothly swept the Swiss Celine Naef.

On the other hand, Dominka Šálková finished in the round of 16 and Jakub Menšík, a finalist of the last junior Australian Open and a hitherto successful qualifier, Hynek Bartoň, finished in the boys’ tournament.

Given that the Czech quarterfinalists are in both halves of the spider, it can easily reach the purely national finals.
