The Radeon RX 7600 of the MBA public card is really cute!
After the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT, AMD has finally launched a new product for the RDNA 3 architecture, and it is the Radeon RX 7600 at the $300 level.
As for why it is Radeon RX 7600 instead of Radeon RX 7800 XT series or Radeon RX 7700 XT series graphics cards, this may be related to AMD’s internal planning; for similar product planning, we have not seen AMD in the past, this time The way it is done really puzzles us.
AMD Radeon RX 7600 uses the RDNA 3 architecture GPU code-named Navi 33 XL, with 8GB GDDR6 memory and 128 bit memory interface.
The main difference between 1st Gen and 2nd Gen AMD Infinity Cache is that the Radeon RX 6600 with 1st Gen Infinity Cache can provide an equivalent bandwidth of 412.9 GB/s, while the Radeon RX 7600 with 2nd Gen Infinity Cache can provide an equivalent bandwidth of 476.9 GB/s effective bandwidth.
According to the information provided by AMD, the Radeon RX 7600 for players with 1080p resolution is mainly to allow GeForce RTX 1060 or GeForce RTX 2060 players to have better choices when replacing graphics cards. Of course, AMD officials also believe that Radeon RX 7600 performance will be better than its own Radeon RX 6600, and better than NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 series.

Having said that, we can see from the specification sheet that the TBP (Total Board Power) of Radeon RX 7600 is much higher than that of Radeon RX 6600, 165W vs 132W, but compared with the TGP (Total Graphics Power) of GeForce RTX 3060 In terms of power, the Radeon RX 7600 seems to have won a little bit, 170W vs 165W.
AMD Radeon RX 7600 is recommended to be paired with a 550W power supply; take the platform using the Ryzen 9 5900X processor as an example.
What surprised us this time is that AMD launched the so-called MBA (Made By AMD) public card for Radeon RX 7600, and it still uses a dual-fan design radiator. Compared with most graphics cards with three-fan design, This MBA card is not only quite textured, but also has a lovely personality.
The 165W Radeon RX 7600 still requires an additional PCIe 8 PIN power supply.
The Radeon RX 7000 series radiator with RDNA 3 architecture is very textured. We mentioned in the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and XT graphics card test that the blackened fins are actually quite difficult to handle. From the factory side, the blackened surface The processing yield is not high.
As a mid-range graphics card, AMD also added a backplane design to the Radeon RX 7600 graphics card, allowing the PCB to be completely covered.
The signal output terminal part has joined the DisplayPort 2.1 terminal since the Radeon RX 7000 series. AMD is quite ahead in this part. After all, there are not many screens with DisplayPort 2.1 specifications at this stage; the HDMI part of AMD Radeon RX 7600 is version 2.1a.
We chose the Intel platform for the test part. Although the reference materials provided by AMD suggest using the AM5 motherboard of Ryzen 5 7600X or Ryzen 9 7900X for testing, we consider to use NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 12GB for comparison, so the final choice is Intel Core i5-13600K with MSI MEG Z790 Godlike motherboard.

Compared with Radeon RX 6600, it is obvious that Radeon RX 7600 has a great chance of winning, among which the 3DMark part has at least 22% lead, and RDNA 2 and RDNA 3 have a 35% improvement in Ray Tracing; as for 1080p games, Cyberpunk 2077’s Ray Tracing test item makes us feel rather strange, because Radeon RX 7600 has no difference with Radeon RX 6600 in this part, but in Hitman 3 Ray Tracing test item, Radeon RX 7600 leads Radeon RX 6600 by about 23 %.
For the remaining non-Ray Tracing games, the Radeon RX 7600 leads by at least 19%.

Followed by the comparison with GeForce RTX 3060 12GB, basically Radeon RX 7600 is still in the lead in 3DMark, but the gap between DirectX 12’s Time Spy series and DirectX 11’s Fire Strike is different.
Although the Radeon RX 7600 is only 2.1% behind the GeForce RTX 3060 in the Ray Tracing performance of the 3DMark section, this is not the case in the 1080p game test. In addition, in the Speed Way test item, Radeon RX 7600 lags behind GeForce RTX 3060 by as much as 16.8%.
Ray Tracing has always been the weakness of AMD Radeon, but the performance of Radeon RX 7600 and GeForce RTX 3060 in Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing is really very different. At the same time, it is not difficult to see that Radeon RX 7600 is lagging behind in the Ray Tracing part of Hitman 3 situation.
However, after deducting the Ray Tracing part, Radeon RX 7600 still has a pretty good performance in other 1080p resolution games.
The part that needs to be noted is that we use the “Ultra” mode in the Ray Tracing section. After lowering it, the Radeon RX 7600 can indeed be smoother. Therefore, we speculate that this part may be due to too many light and shadow screens in the game, which drags down the overall performance.
Gaming Power Consumption Compare(Average)
For Radeon RX 7600’s Navi 33 XL, we first heard in December 2022 that it might be launched in February, but we didn’t see it until May. The reason… I won’t go into it, anyway, it has already launch to market.
AMD obviously uses higher TBP in exchange for higher performance, which can be seen from the 132W of Radeon RX 6600 to the 165W of Radeon RX 7600; 12GB situation (less Ray Tracing).
However, the Radeon RX 7600 of the RDNA 3 architecture not only improves performance, but also adds 2nd Gen Infinity Cache technology, RDNA 3’s new AI accelerator, 2nd Gen RT accelerator and the new AMD Radiance Display Engine specifications can be seen its different.

On the other hand, although it is the same RDNA 3 architecture as the Radeon RX 7900 series, this time the Radeon RX 7600 of the Navi 33 XL is a single-GPU design without the combination of GCD + MCD.
Some people may want to compare the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and Radeon RX 7600 8GB, which went on sale on May 24, but the suggested price of the two is 399 vs 299 US dollars, which belong to different levels of products. Have to wait until the GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, which goes on sale in July.
As for the AMD Radeon RX 7600 MBA card, we have a lot of love. After all, the small card with dual fans and the all-black design make it look “cuter” compared with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT. Whether there will be an MBA card in Taiwan that can be purchased, the chances should not be great… However, the word “Made in Taiwan” has not been seen on the MBA card this time.
If you don’t care about Ray Tracing performance, Radeon RX 7600 will perform better than GeForce RTX 3060 in DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 games, but will anyone really not touch Ray Tracing at all?
There are currently no other AIB partner cards planned for testing, so that concludes testing of the $269 AMD Radeon RX 7600 for new architecture cards under $300.
