The Customs of the Port of Dakar intercept 9 vehicles stolen in Europe.

As part of the operations to dismantle the networks and corridors of international drug trafficking, vehicles and prohibited products, the Dakar Port Customs Subdivision seized this Wednesday 19 August 2020, 09 vehicles hidden in 3 containers from European ports.

This seizure is the result of inquiries and investigations carried out following that of 12 vehicles carried out in mid-July 2020, still at the port of Dakar.

Led by the Joint Container Control Unit (UMCC) under the supervision of the Head of the Dakar Port Customs Subdivision, the operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence, cross-checks and risk analyzes. This is how three (03) containers from European ports and manifested as containing personal effects are identified and targeted.

When the said containers are opened, the nine (09) vehicles are discovered. This is’1 DS 7 Crossback, of 3 Peugeot 3008, of 2 Peugeot 5008, of 2 Toyota Rav 4 and D’1 Toyota CHR.

Checks carried out by Interpol revealed that the vehicles had been declared stolen. The network counterfeiters of documents, in particular registration cards and fake Consumer Release Certificates linked to this affair, is set aside state of harm.
