The current Volvo XC90 will remain on offer alongside the electric successor

The Volvo XC90 has been on the market for the current generation since 2015 and is still one of the Swedish carmaker’s most successful models. Volvo plans to start producing a large electric SUV, which was considered a full-fledged replacement for the XC90.

Now, however, it seems that even before the complete switchover to electricity, which Volvo plans for 2030, the popular SUV will remain on offer in the current generation with internal combustion engines. In the foreseeable future, the current XC90 will not disappear, but on the contrary will benefit from a high share of hybrid engines, and even from modernization.
