The current executive director of Nova Broadcasting Group Nikolay Andreev is the new head of Vivacom – the largest telecom in the country, reports “Capital”. Both companies are part of one holding – United Group.
It became clear that Vivacom will have a new manager in the summer, when the head of the telecom for 8 years, Atanas Dobrev, announced that he was parting ways with the company by mutual consent.
The new head of Nova TV is the Belgian Dirk Gerkens, who is currently the director of “Programming, Production and Advertising Sales” at United Media.
For 2020, Vivacom has over BGN 1.02 billion in revenues and BGN 124.4 million in profit. The telecom was acquired by United Group in November 2019, and the ownership officially changed at the end of July 2020.
Nova Broadcasting is the largest media group in the country, with revenues of BGN 221 million last year and a net profit of BGN 71 million. United Group bought the television for about EUR 300 million, then acquired Channel 3. (now Nova News), the music televisions The Voice TV and Magic TV, as well as the radios The Voice Radio, “Radio Veselina”, Magic FM and “Radio Vitosha” – all of them connected over the years with the MRF MP Delyan Peevski. A little later, United Group acquired Peevski’s newspapers Telegraf, Monitor, Politika, Meridian Match and 50% of Borba’s shares, which were transferred to Net Info.
