The Cure fans receive refunded high service fees from Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster is going to give fans who bought a ticket for a concert by The Cure in the United States part of their money back. It applies to concertgoers who had to pay more service costs for their ticket than others, writes The Cure singer Robert Smith on Twitter.

,,After another conversation, Ticketmaster agreed with us that many of the ticket prices were unjustifiably high. As a show of goodwill, they have offered to return $10 for the cheapest tickets and $5 for all other tickets,” said Smith, who is known for songs like Friday I’m in Love in Just Like Heaven. On Thursday, the singer had expressed strong criticism of Ticketmaster’s ‘service costs debacle’ on Twitter and promised to talk to the party.

After ticket sales for The Cure concerts started on Wednesday, many fans online complained about the very high ticket prices. Some spent more money on service costs than on their seat itself. According to Smith, the tickets in the next round of sales will have a lower service charge.
