PT Pembangunan Armada Niaga Nasional (Persero) or PANN was immediately dissolved by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The dissolution of this company is listed in the annex to Presidential Decree no. 25 of 2022 relating to the 2023 Government Regulation Compilation Schedule in which the annex contains a draft Government Regulation relating to the dissolution of PT PANN.
In addition to PT PANN, a number of BUMNs have been dissolved. Summary detik comOn Tuesday (27/12/2022), BUMN Minister Erick Thohir announced the dissolution of three BUMNs in March 2022, namely PT Kertas Kraft Aceh (Persero), PT Industri Kaca (Persero) and PT Industri Sandang Nusantara (Persero ).
This company was dissolved because it hadn’t been in business for a long time. Erick Thohir said, Kertas Kraft Aceh was not operating since 2008, the glass industry in 2015 and the garment industry in 2018.
“Obviously we can’t keep hanging around. We can’t be tyrannical leaders who don’t make sure from first that we’re on the same side for a good solution,” Erick said at the time.
In addition to the three BUMNs, Erick said four BUMNs will soon follow. A total of four BUMNs: PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines (Persero), PT Kertas Leces (Persero), PT Istaka Karya (Persero) and PT PANN. Merpati, Kertas Leces and Istaka Karya have been declared bankrupt.
Fate of PANN assets
BUMN Minister Arya Sinulingga’s special staff said that PT PANN’s assets will belong to PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA) when it is dissolved. “PANN was brought in by PPA right, yes the assets belong to PPA,” she said.
PT PANN itself had attracted attention in late 2019. During a meeting with DPR RI Commission XI on State Capital Participation (PMN), Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati was confused in answering questions regarding PT PANN. Sri Mulyani initially explained that PT PANN received PMN of IDR 3.76 trillion, suddenly XI DPR Commission member RI Mukhamad Misbakhun interrupted him and asked what was PT PANN
Apparently, Sri Mulyani also admitted that he just found out that there was a BUMN called PANN. He also took the time to ask other Finance Ministry officials.
“It’s the same sir, I just heard about it. It’s an old BUMN but it’s not popular. That’s why Pak Misbakhun and I have never heard of it,” Sri Mulyani said.
