The culprit has been revealed, because of which a few days ago plastic tubes of mineral water sold in a shop in Plovdiv turned out to be full of brandy.
“It all started with the return of a can of the mineral water in question from our client, who told us that the water smelled of something that was probably brandy,” Dafina Dalgarova, store manager, told Plovdiv24.bg. “We immediately withdrew the remaining bottles from the batch from the store after this signal and checked if this was the case. It turned out to be true – there was brandy in the bottles. Of the 10 bottles of 8 liters delivered, however, only two remained,” she added.
Today it became clear that behind the mysterious “transformation” of water into brandy is a driver from the distribution company that refills the store. He decided to use empty tubes of water to fill them with brandy for personal use. He does not take the tubes home, but leaves them in the company’s warehouse. And from there, by mistake, the supermarkets end up. The driver is fired.
In connection with this case, under the direction of the District Prosecutor’s Office – Plovdiv from the OD of the Ministry of Interior – Plovdiv, a preliminary inspection is carried out. It is in view of a possible crime under Art. 234 para. 1 of the Penal Code – for distribution of excise goods without excise label, when such is required by law. The deadline for completion is one month. An inspection is also carried out by the Food Safety Agency.
