The CSCTICAO Hosts Taekwondo Entertainment and Therapy Events for the Community

The Ivorian-Korean Alassane Ouattara Sports, Cultural and Tic Center (Cscticao) intends to fully play its role. That of promoter of Taekwondo and sport in general, but also of culture and ICT.

A bit like the Muju taekwondo center, next to the activities of the National Federation, in Korea. A place where discipline is used in various forms with the aim of bringing improvement to everyone.

Joining the action to the word, the general management of this center organized two days dedicated to Taekwondo entertainment and Taekwondo therapy. First there was a conference, on Saturday July 1, to present the Korean martial art under a different face than the one everyone knows.

In front of an audience of Taekwondo teachers, followers and supporters, the moderators showed that the Korean martial art, which mobilizes different kicks and punches to defend and counter-attack, can be a tool for social intervention and a real therapeutic tool.

After the theory on Saturday, they met the next day on Sunday at the center’s gymnasium for practical workshops supervised by specialized teachers from the Injs. Four workshops in total including three for children.

“It was a question of putting into practice everything that we had said the day before, in conference”, explains Yssouf Silué, teacher in adapted physical activity, one of the main animators of this day organized by the direction of the promotion of the center ivoro. -Korean and the development of Taekwondo.

Four workshops have been set up, the first concerns hyperactivity and balance disorders intended for restless children. Exercises that can channel this energy. The second workshop targeted children with inhibition difficulties, considered nonchalant in acts. We found them exercises to help them let off steam.

The third workshop on coordination, with children to help them in this area. While the last was for deconditioned adults and seniors (loss of physical condition). The workshops were punctuated by several exercises helping to unite the group.

Participants were able to experience the khiap, a cry aimed at controlling breathing and producing adrenaline in the brain. Elements that can be analyzed as the possibility of extracting oneself from daily life, the action of shouting and hitting becoming a means of expression.

“The experience is beautiful. It was great! I was afraid to practice Taekwondo, kicks, punches… I’m happy to know that it can be practiced differently, ”said Marie Audrey, at the end of the session.

The young lady from Yopougon wants the Cscticao to multiply this type of meeting. In any case, budding taekwondo-in perceived the place as an educational learning space.
