The Crown Season 6: A Finale Full of Controversies and Scandals

London, United Kingdom. After seven years, six seasons and thousands of controversies and conflicts with British royalty, the countdown finally began for the premiere of the finale of The Crown, the Netflix series that portrays the life of Queen Elizabeth II, her performance as monarch and the scandals of his family.

The audiovisual production generated a very important international fanaticism and received hundreds of awards, from the Golden Globe, to the Emmy and the Screen Actors Guild Award. In the last few hours, the trailer for the sixth season was made public, which will address key moments: from Lady Di’s fateful outcome, to the beginning of the relationship between Kate Middleton and Prince William.

Without a doubt, since time immemorial, what happens inside Buckingham Palace has almost never remained behind closed doors. Over the years, the royals were the protagonists of hundreds of media scandals: from the love triangle between Carlos, Lady Di and Camilla Parker Bowles, to the tragic accident that ended the life of the princess and, more recently, the fight between brothers William and Harry, in which their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, respectively, also participate.

Although the lives of the members of the crown were portrayed in films, documentaries and books, without a doubt, The Crown became one of the favorites par excellence. Even actor Matt Smith, who played Philip of Edinburgh in the first two installments, said that Queen Elizabeth II watched the series.

But, now, after five successful seasons, the Netflix production is preparing to say goodbye and with a bit of suspense, since the sixth season will be divided into two parts: the first arrives on November 16 and the second on November 14. December. This week the official trailer and two promotional photos were released that show a little of what will be covered in the episodes.

The promotional video begins with the sound of the clock hands and a pan around different rooms of the Palace. “The Crown is a symbol of permanence. It’s something you are, not what you do,” Claire Foy, who played Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons, is heard saying in a voice-over. “A part of our natural being is always lost. We have all made sacrifices. It’s not a choice. It is a duty,” says Olivia Colman, who starred in the two second parts. Finally, the speaker is Imelda Staunton, the current Lilibet: “But what about life that I leave aside? The woman I left aside.”

Likewise, in addition to the trailer, they published two promotional posters. On the one hand, a beautiful image of Lady Di – played by Elizabeth Debicki -, dressed in a turquoise swimsuit and sitting on her back on a dock. On the other, a postcard of Queen Elizabeth II illuminated by what appears to be one of the large doors of what she once called her home.

It should be noted that this season will take place at the end of the 90s and will portray one of the moments that forever marked the crown: the fatal accident that ended Lady Di’s life. It will also run until 2005 and will show the beginning of the relationship between Kate and William – played by Ed McVey and Meg Bellamy – while they were studying at the University of St Andrews. For this reason, it is presumed that the story of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be included, nor will the death of Elizabeth II and the subsequent ascension of Charles III to the throne.

The first part of The Crown season six arrives on Netflix on November 16. For its part, the second and final one will be available from December 14.
