But let’s start at the beginning: This Pullman was converted by the SGS Styling Garage Hamburg and is officially called “SGS 600”, the basis is a normal 560 SEL (W 126). The abbreviation – especially the “L” – makes it immediately clear that the base vehicle is already the long version of the S-Class of the time. And under the hood still slumbers the original 5.6-liter V8 with 279 hp, which has only run 71,400 kilometers!

This Pullman has had a long journey

Built in Hamburg, the limousine was then shipped to Japan, where a car dealer from Tokyo is said to have given it custom door sills, which of course make the Pullman even more exclusive. Unfortunately, they cannot be seen in any of the photos.

But what is noticeable is the luxurious equipment befitting its status. Everything is covered in either leather or wood, there is a functioning refrigerator and a sunroof in the back. Not to forget the small TV with a VHS slot. If you are enthusiastic about luxury with the charm of the 80s and 90s and want to feel like you are in a film from that era, this is the right car.

Appearance in a popular Netflix series

And speaking of film: This Pullman is a genuine film star. Or rather, a TV series star. In the fifth season of the famous Netflix series “The Crown”, the 126 drives through the screens of the world as part of the Queen’s convoy! When purchasing, the new owner receives a series of photos from the filming in Great Britain.

Here you can clearly see the Pullman for sale in an episode of “The Crown” on Netflix.

The Pullman not only looks regal, it is regal too! And the price is still low: the 1991 S-Class is for sale for 59,900 euros. A fair deal, especially when you take a look at its predecessor, the Mercedes 600 (W 100). This one is often asked for four times as much! But don’t forget: this example is not one of the 349 Pullman examples that Mercedes had built in Sindelfingen, but a conversion by SGS.
