British actor Stephen Greif, who also had roles in the hit series The crown and the soap Coronation Streetpassed away at the age of 78. His agency made it known.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful client Stephen Greif,” writes Michelle Braidman Associates. “His long career has included numerous roles on screen and stage. He will be greatly missed and our thoughts go out to his family and friends.”
Greif was born in 1944 in Hertfordshire, England and was primarily on stage during the 1960s and 1970s. In 1978 he moved to television, with his role of him in the popular science fiction series Blake 7 from the BBC. She has also acted in British soap operas, among other things Coronation Street in East Enders.
Voice actor in The Crown
Two years ago, Greif had a role in the Netflix series The crownabout the British royal family. He played the Speaker of the House of Commons Sir Bernard Weatherill. He has also had voice acting roles in several games in recent years including The sorcerer, It takes two in Fable II.
Fellow voice actor Barnaby Edwards, known, among other things Doctor who, reacts sadly to Grief’s death. “A rock solid player with a voice like molten lava. When it came to playing bad guys, he was unsurpassed.”
