HAKADAL (VG) Not very far inside Hakadalen, the crow Roger controls the lives of the Trehjørningen family. Roger flies around where he wants and is loved for it.

– My wife was a little skeptical at first, but now Roger is one of us. He belongs to the family, says landscape gardener Erik Trehjørningen.
The crow Roger loves to ride a motorcycle with the man who saved his life. The two have become inseparable and are ravaging around Hadelandsveien in Hakadalen, as an attraction for neighbors and people they meet on the way to the store.

Lost and muddy
– If it’s too slow, he poops at me with his beak. Then all you have to do is go for a walk, says Erik Trehjørningen with a laugh.
Three weeks ago, he found a stray, muddy and weak little bird that had just avoided being run over by the wheels of a huge construction machine.
Instead of killing the little bundle, as Erik’s colleagues at work thought was right to do, he took it home and nursed the little crow until the bird recovered, and gently began to strike with its wings.
– I’ve spent a lot of time on Roger since he was found. Now he has in a short time become a friend that I really appreciate. I have always had a love for animals, but I have never experienced having such a faithful companion. He’s a smart guy, you know, says the crow’s mentor and benefactor.
FRIEND DRIVING: If it does not go fast enough, the crow Roger is cursed and poops his father, Erik in the head. Inside the yard, there will be a lot of shit to get.

Erik claims that they talk about everything. Politics and especially what is happening in the Middle East should be a topic that frequently comes up between them.
– Is Roger pro-Palestinian or does he support Israel?
– Again, it turns out that Roger is wise, and very diplomatic. After weighing the pros and cons, he comes to the conclusion that he supports both parties. It impresses me, says Erik Trehjørningen.
FOUND EACH OTHER: The friendship between Erik and Roger is unique. They party together about everything between heaven and earth.

– You named him Roger. Why?
– The crow is simply and simply named after an old boss I had. There is nothing more to say. I’m sure both think it’s okay, says Erik.
His wife Berit is a little tired of wiping up the fun that Roger leaves inside the house.
– It will be nice now he flies more out in nature than here in the house, she says and thinks it is now time for major cleaning indoors
– Roger does not pay for board and lodging, but is he expensive to run?
– It’s fine. The menu consists of baby porridge, bananas, minced meat, melon, strawberries and hard-boiled eggs. He does not blow the budget.

Erik Trehjørningen admits that he is above average animal lover and happy to convey how important it is that people take care of the animals.
– I work a lot with children and young people. Now the plan is for me to bring Roger, show him and tell how special this crow is.
– I see that there is something exceptional about Roger, but when it gets the care we give him, it shows that it is entirely possible to make contact with, and communicate with a bird as we do. It gives me and the family great pleasure to have the daily interaction with Roger, says Erik Trehjørningen.
On Saturday, Roger was the center of the party when the family’s daughter had a girlfriend party. – He danced and flew around with all the beautiful girls. It was terribly fun to watch, says mum Berit.
