The new Fiat Fastback will make its debut in Brazil in 2022, an economical SUV ready to amaze with its characteristics.
Once again, therefore, the South America and specifically Brazil proves to be the homeland of Fiat’s crossover SUVs. With Fastback, however, the car manufacturer has made several innovations.
Fiat Fastback will debut in the South American market later this year
The latter, for example, will be the first car of its kind to be fitted with a coupé body. As for the name, Fiat Fastback, this is not an absolute novelty given that already in 2018 an identical concept was presented.
From the latter, therefore, years later, this new model would be born. A similarity that can also be seen with the naked eye. If we compare the images of the Fastback prototype with the announcement trailer of the car we will see a very similar body.
The birthplace of this new made in Fiat product would have been the South America’s own design centerto. Here the vehicle was cared for under the pseudonym of Project 376.
For its production, however, the engineers have relied on the MLA platformthe same used by Pulseas well as the evolution of MP1 with which the Argo and the Chronos.
The architecture has therefore been revised to improve the car’s comfort, sturdiness and safety. Speaking of the latter, among the most interesting additions we will have driving assistance systems such as thelane departure warning.
The car will exceed the dimensions of the Cronos
But not only that, we will also have the anti-collision warning which will be particularly appealing to South American drivers as this device is not very common there. Let’s move on to see the dimensions of this new gem.
The Fastback, therefore, will also surpass the Cronos with its estimated length of 4 meters and 3 and a length of less than 1.8 meters. The interiors, on the other hand, should respect the technological standards of the latest Fiat models.
Among these we will have a seven-inch digital instrument panel and a display compatible with Android Auto e Apple Car Play Wireless. Unlike other Fiat cars produced for South America, the Fastback will not have naturally aspirated engines.
Specifically the car should mount the 1.0 turbo gives 130 CV and the 1.3 turbo and 175 CV with 7-speed CVT gearbox or perhaps a 6-speed automatic.
