Jeddah: The Saudi Border Security Force rescued the crew of the cargo ship Panama which caught fire in the Red Sea. With the help of a foreign ship, Saudi forces rescued the crew of the Panamanian-flagged ship crossing the Red Sea 123 nautical miles northwest of the port of Jizan.
Colonel Musfar Alqarni, an official army spokesperson, said that information had been received at the Jeddah Search and Rescue Coordination Center that the ship was on fire. The ship’s position was immediately determined and the information was immediately forwarded to the Command and Control Center and relevant departments in the Jizan region to provide the necessary support.
