The new video features the boss of Flesh Lip, who James meets at Brookhaven Hospital. The game is presented side by side with the original version, allowing players to get an idea of the changes that have been made.
In addition, the developers introduced a new version of Laura, the child James meets during the story. According to Team Bloober, in the scene where James meets the boss, players will see that it is “very faithful to the original game, but with a few changes to take advantage of the current story and combat. “
Character animation has become much more detailed thanks to the use of motion capture. Thanks to this, the developers were able to add elements such as facial expressions and light movements to the game.
When it came to working on the script, we wanted to avoid making changes just for the sake of making changes. While minor deviations from the original game script are acceptable, our main goal in creating this scene and everything else was to capture the complex character dynamics that made the original Silent Hill 2 a milestone in the history of interactive storytelling.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be released on October 8, 2024 for PC and PlayStation 5.
