Two generations ago, Life is Strange managed to captivate players with a proposition that became popular over time. Since then, Dontnod has grown a lot, thanks in large part to Tencent’s capital investment, and it has allowed them to start operating as a publisher, releasing their own and other studio games.

This is Gerda: The Flame in Winter, the first external title published by the French company and developed by PortaPlay. The game was announced during the Indie World shared by Nintendo earlier this week and featured a trailer for the game, described as an intimate narrative adventure with RPG beats.

It takes place during World War II, right in the middle of the German occupation of Denmark. Inspired by real events, we can hide in the skin of Gerda, the skin of a nurse whose life is complicated overnight. Armed with your mind and the knowledge of your community, you should try to save your loved ones while remaining true to yourself.

Gerda: Flame in Winter will arrive on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch in 2022, no specific date has been entered in the calendar yet.
