Indie hit maker Vampire survivors Luca Galante posted on Steam main maildedicated to the results of the year and plans for the future. At the end of the post, the developer recalled that the company founded thanks to the success of the game is working not only on it, but also on a new project that will appear “soon” on Steam in the form of a public beta.
The only thing known so far about the new game is that it will be something pixelated and “weird”.
Vampire survivors after the success of Legacy of the Moonspell, a new DLC awaits you. Luka confirmed that he intends to exclusively release additional content as part of paid add-ons: new levels, weapons, characters. New mechanics, features and other things that change the game a lot will be released exclusively in free patches. However, the team is currently very busy with various platforms, so no global changes should be expected in the near future.
The developer also talked about the work on the mobile version of the game. Initially, he wanted to find a third-party porting team, but all potential candidates insisted on much more aggressive monetization, typical of mobile platforms. In the end, I had to fend for myself. Luka is satisfied with the final result and the high ratings of the mobile version seem to confirm his innocence. Now the team is thinking about how to distribute the paid DLC on mobile platforms.
Work on a new engine for the game is also in full swing. Its first version increased performance tenfold, but made the physics of the game too realistic. The final version includes a not so significant increase, but it does not upset the game, and it is already possible to try it on consoles and mobile devices. The work to implement it on the PC version is ongoing and requires the development of a small launcher in which to choose which version of the game to launch and with which parameters, mainly for Steam Deck.
