The Plenary of the City Council of Leganés has approved studying the possible creation of a pool of music teachers in conjunction with other municipalities that also have conservatories and municipal music schools

Citizens Leganés has proposed the creation of a joint job bank with other municipalities for music teachers. The motion has been presented by Pilar Cano, who stressed that this bag could be an easy way to solve the problem of the lack of teachers at the School-Conservatory of Music, which today has a deficit of 5 teachers.
Upon hearing the motion, ULEG, which has thanked the party for its work, has revealed its doubts about whether this can be done, something that Pilar Cano has clarified that yes since is underway in other communities such as the Basque Country or Navarra. “I have been in contact with other municipalities and they have been very interested, they think it can be done.”

The Councilor for Culture, Eva Martínez, thanked Ciudadanos for the proposal: “Let’s hope that we can take the necessary steps to carry out this process.” This is how the PSOE has also positioned itself, which has highlighted the “constructive” work of this motion.
United Podemos-IU Leganés also supported this proposal, ensuring that “after years of listening to pilgrim excuses, we approve anything” claiming that this proposal does not guarantee a solution: “It just takes political will.” Along these lines, ULEG has expressed doubts that it can be carried out: “I would have liked the Councilor for Culture to give deadlines.”
Along the same lines, the PP of Leganés was positioned, which accused Ciudadanos of wanting to “whitewash the management of this Government.” Thus he recalled that the School-Conservatory is not the only municipal institution that has a lack of personnel mentioning the nursery schools, CAID or the local police force: «It is not a problem of hiring in the music school but of management throughout the City Council«.
