Mexico City. By unanimous vote, the governing body of the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) appointed Pedro Jesús Lara Lastra as Executive Secretary of the regulatory body.
In an extraordinary session, the commissioners approved that as of October 25, he will occupy the position that was held for almost two years by Eugenia Guadalupe Blas Nájera, an official who was publicly denounced by former commissioner Norma Leticia Campos Aragón for a series of irregularities in proceeding in the matters to be analyzed by the Commission.
The CRE indicated that Lara Lastra is originally from Tabasco, and has a degree in Architecture from the Cristóbal Colón University in Veracruz.
The official has more than 25 years of experience in local and federal public administration, having been Executive Coordinator and Coordinator of Administration and Services at Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex); Deputy Director of Real Estate Inspection and Investigation, in the Government of Mexico City; Coordinator of Priority Projects at the Attorney General’s Office of the Federal District; inter alia.
The CRE also highlighted that Lara Lastra has knowledge in assertive communication; federal public administration; conflict of interest; anti-corruption policy; public ethics and administrative responsibility and protection of personal data, among others.
Within its experience, the CRE noted, it also highlights advice for priority projects, monitoring compliance with policies and regulations, as well as the use and administration of human resources, materials and general services.
