Friends, there’s something new at Krutenau! Since the beginning of October, Kebs Baba, the most famous kebab shop in Strasbourg, has opened a new address a few meters from the Manufacture des tabacs. And if you thought that we just eat kebabs there, you’re wrong: the team has given everything to offer an unusual offer in a neighborhood that has changed a lot in recent months. We explain everything to you from A to Z.
Kebs Baba is the name of this little kebab inaugurated in 2021 (and yes already), in the middle of the rue du Vieux-Marché-aux-Vins. With his homemade broochesits quality meat, its flame cooking and its unique recipesthe snack quickly won over street food fans.

But if today we talk to you about Kebs Baba, it’s to open the doors to the new Krutenau address, recently installed in place of the Quino bar(formerly Mémé dans les Orties for the more nostalgic). Here is a little tour from the owner.

A nice novelty, between Turkish snack and vintage brasserie
Located exactly at 14 rue Munch, Kebs Baba 2 is at the crossroads between a Turkish brasserie, 70s-80s atmosphere, and an old-fashioned kebab where the TV is always on.
Özgür, the boss of the place, wanted to have fun by imagining a real place to live where you can eat and drink whenever you want, because her new little gem is open continuously 7 days a week, and sometimes until 1 a.m.
We can come toast with one of the seven draft beers on offer, taste one of the 10 raki (brandies), eat a selection of mezze and kebabsand why not dance on the weekend if we feel like it!

Between these walls, everything has been designed to allow you to sit down and eat without having to worry, as in any self-respecting kebab. But as we are also in a bar, better equipped than some night establishments: you can also let yourself go a little, because the space is also designed for that.
Perfect soundproofing, club-worthy sound system, light effects and big screenwhen we told you that the team had a blast… We are here in a place that stands out and that feels good!

Kebs Baba 2 is therefore the evolved version of the first. The space is much bigger (65 seats), it is decorated with care, the atmosphere is very special, all generations cross paths, and above all: we find, on the menu, a truly diversified offer (always with kebabs as a mainstay).

Quality kebabs, Turkish drinks and mezze!
Yes, rest assured, at Kebs Baba, the kebab is still king! Well-grilled beef rump steak, or just marinated chickenthe know-how is there, and the meats are always cooked over a flame in the traditional wayand that won’t change.
And if you still have the choice between four different kebabs, in a sandwich or on a plate, small new features have also appeared: like the 11 small homemade mezzés to share. To try them, you have the choice between classics or more original ones: moutabal, hummus, pilaki, fried halloumi, paçanga boregi etc.

The “flamacun”, called here “Turkish flame tarts”, also appeared, a bit like a nod to Alsace. They are available here with minced meat and marinated peppers, with feta and spices, or with sausage and Turkish cheese.
In addition, even the desserts have made a little place in the sunlike sütlaç (an oven-baked rice pudding), or chocolate baklava (a delicious chocolate and pistachio puff pastry soaked in milk).
We tested a good part of the map, and frankly, you can go there with your eyes closed. And be sure that we will soon tell you about the evenings!

You understand, Kebs Baba 2 arrives in the heart of Krutenau with a hybrid and rather original proposition. She marries both a traditional kebab, and a Turkish bar where you can meet for all occasions, and that’s a first in Strasbourg.
The little ones and the big ones +
- Combining a bar worthy of the name and a quality kebab: we love the idea.
- The kebabs are always delicious, with a favorite for the quality beef (try it on a plate).
- The collaboration with the Studio Petit Martin teams allows us to have a spot that really looks good with its retro look, and you will see that even the toilets are pimped out.
- Everything is homemade and it shows, the products are quality.
- It’s a place open continuously from 11:30 a.m. until 1 a.m., so you can come whenever you want to have a fun time, even on Sunday afternoons in the middle of winter.
- Thanks to license 4, you can just come to drink a beer or a raki, and the selection is wide.
- Evenings will be organized. DJ sets, disco evenings, traditional Turkish music evenings, it’s going to be happening and we’ll talk to you about it soon!
- A terrace has been set up, we can’t wait to see the sunny days return.
- The pint of classic blonde is €4.50 and a happy hour is set up from Monday to Friday (flamacun + pint for €9).
- You can come and drink Turkish tea or a good coffee (Mokxa) at any time.
- The Baba 2 will be available on Deliveroo from mid-November.
