“I know and I see in the comments that people do not believe that all this is really true. And many do not know anyone who is ill. Yes, I do not know until September 28, so I want to tell my story,” Eglīte points out.

On September 25, Rita felt bad, so she left home earlier from work. On the same evening, the temperature rose above 38 degrees, lung pain and dry cough began, and there was complete weakness.

“I couldn’t go to the toilet without lying a little halfway on the floor, I couldn’t hold my head drinking a cup of tea,” Rita recalls.

After the weekend, the feeling unwell decreased and the temperature disappeared, but the runny nose started, the smell disappeared.

She learned that a woman had Covid-19 at work. A brigade was called at the workplace, testing was performed. Rita thought that the test would be positive for her, but it showed a negative result.

“To my surprise – my test was negative,” Eglīte recalls.

The bad feeling did not disappear.

“Basically, I don’t feel the taste and smell all the time, and my lungs hurt, the feeling that something is sitting on top, that something is stuck there. Sometimes when I talk a lot, the feeling of burning,” says Rita.

Last week, October 7, Rita had decided to take another Covid-19 test.

“I left, took the test again. And I get the message that I’m positive. The worst is the pain in my lungs. I can’t take my breath away. Please, please take this all seriously,” Rita emphasizes.

There has been a recent increase in the incidence of Covid-19.
