Ahmed Dogan intends to kill Delyan Peevski. This is what Miroslav Todorov, the main witness in the case against Ceyhan Ibryamov, claimed in his testimony before the prosecutor’s office, writes Mediapool.
“I want to point out that during a meeting, Ibryamov mentioned to me that Akhmed Dogan told him that it was not going to be like that and that they would kill the Boy further, referring to Delyan Peevski. He said that they talked about possibly shooting him showing me the shape of a gun with his fingers, but only to find the money for it,” witness Miroslav Todorov told the investigators.
The conversation between Ibryamov and Todorov is contained in the SRS, which are attached to the prosecutor’s report, with which I.F. Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov asked the Parliament and the CEC for the immunity of MP Jeyhan Ibryamov.
Todorov’s words are cited as an argument that Ibryamov should remain in custody.
At the moment, he is being held in custody permanently, and the Court of Appeal in Sofia must make a final ruling on his sentence. Otherwise, Ibryamov is accused of having asked for and accepted a bribe from Todorov. In return, he promised to influence officials from the Ministry of Defense in relation to public procurement. It is currently unclear what these auctions are.
A rather disturbing quote
The first hearing on the remand order against Ibryamov was held behind closed doors. It never became clear what exactly necessitated this secrecy, but then only the court’s decision was reported without much detail about the evidence presented. However, the meeting was quite interesting.
Mediapool has learned from its sources that during the case the prosecutor, in an attempt to argue why Ibryamov should remain in custody permanently, chose three quotes from the testimony of the main witness.
One of them is the following:
“I want to point out that during the same meeting, Ibryamov mentioned to me that Akhmed Dogan told him that it was not going to be like that and that further on they would kill the boy, referring to Delyan Peevski. He said that they talked about possibly shooting him showing me with his fingers the shape of a gun, but only to find the money for it.”
The prosecutor himself emphasizes that this statement has nothing to do with the accusation. But he explains that he decided to mention it because the quote was “quite disturbing”.
At the moment, it is not clear whether the prosecutor’s office will limit itself to quoting the witness statements or whether it will also start an investigation into them.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Ibryamov demanded BGN 400,000 from Todorov. The witness claims that this money is for buying votes in the elections at the end of the month. He also explains that Ibryamov told him that they needed between BGN 5 and 7 million for the vote.
“We commented that in Shumen, where his constituency is, there are Roma who are waiting for this, waiting for money to vote for him,” Todorov said.
The prosecutor’s office also claims that there is evidence that over the past 10 years, Ibryamov took about BGN 800,000 from Todorov. In exchange for this, the deputy helped win public contracts from companies close to the witness.
Ibryamov was arrested on October 2 in the parking lot of a capital hypermarket. According to the investigators, this was his third meeting with Todorov in the last ten days. BGN 100,000 in pre-marked banknotes were handed over to him. After the arrest, some of the money was found in his jacket.
