Miami (AFP) – The Dallas Cowboys didn’t shine much, but they did enough to beat the injury-ravaged Tennessee Titans Thursday 27-13 in the NFL, but with tight end Dalton Schultz with two touchdowns.
With their postseason berth already clinched, the Cowboys still have a shot at the top seed in the NFC if they can win their last game against Washington and the Philadelphia Eagles lose their last two games.
Despite their sixth straight loss, the Titans can also make the playoffs if they win their final game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and could very well attempt that task with Joshua Dobbs at quarterback.
Dobbs made his first NFL start under backup Malik Willis, who struggled to fill in for injured starter Ryan Tannehill.
A former quarterback at the University of Tennessee, Dobbs spent five years as a backup in Pittsburgh, Jacksonville and Cleveland but may have done well enough to keep his spot for the clinching game in Jacksonville.
Dobbs completed 20 of 39 passes and passed for 232 yards and a touchdown with one interception.
His counterpart, Dak Prescott, threw two interceptions in the first half, continuing a troubling trend for the Cowboys quarterback, but kept his composure as he clinched the team victory in the second half.
Prescott, sans star running back Tony Pollard, passed for 282 yards and two touchdowns.
