This Friday, December 31, several trains circulating between the Grand Duchy and France are canceled due to the too large number of SNCF agents having been in contact with the virus.
SNCF communicates on the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic on its network. In a tweet, she announces that several trains are canceled this Friday on the Nancy-Metz-Luxembourg line because “the conditions of departure are not met”. In question ? Too many workers unable to work after contracting the virus.
From 3:16 p.m. to 6:58 p.m., all trains departing from Luxembourg are canceled. Same observation on the other side of the border where all trains leaving from Metz to the Grand Duchy between 4:46 p.m. and 11:14 p.m. are also canceled on December 31.

A situation which should last a few more weeks according to the SNCF. An adapted transport plan is thus planned until January 14, to compensate for this lack of personnel.
There will therefore be fewer trains to avoid cascading cancellations at the last minute. But the French railway company assures him: “85 to 90% of trains will run normally”. Cross-border workers are invited to inquire beforehand.
