Case increase COVID-19 now reported to occur in continental Europe. The World Health Organization (WHO) even mentions that Europe is now back to being the epicenter or center of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Europe has again become the epicenter of this pandemic,” said WHO Director for Europe, Dr Hans Kluge, some time ago.
Some European countries responded by re-tightening social restrictions. Austria as an example applies lockdown, but only for people who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Chancellor Austria, Alexander Schallenberg, admits the low vaccination coverage is a shame. Austria is reported to have vaccinated 65 percent of its citizens, considered one of the lowest coverage countries in Europe.
“The goal is clear. We want to start on Sunday the whole country to impose a lockdown for those who have not been vaccinated,” Alexander said as quoted by CNN, Saturday (11/13/2021).
“Other countries have higher vaccination coverage. It’s a shame because we have a sufficient supply of vaccines,” he concluded.
