The Court of Appeal upholds the verdict of the murderer of the driver BlaBlaCar / GORDON

Golub in May 2019 was found guilty of robbery, illegal possession of firearms, seizure of a vehicle, murder, forgery and use of forged documents. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and confiscation of property.

The court dismissed the appeal of Golub’s defense.



Context:

Taras Poznyakov disappeared in April 2016 on the way from Lviv to Kiev, where he was heading in the company of two men whom he met through the BlaBlaCar travel companion search service. The police later found his car.

Police detained Golub in August 2016. Russian citizen Luan Kingisepp was also suspected of kidnapping Poznyakov, but in March 2019 he died as a result of an explosion in Kiev.
