“On August 9, Judge Igor Semiryad acquitted Andrey Alimpiev under Part 3 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligence in military service),” the press service of the Dzerzhinsky District Court of Kharkiv said.
The court added that the prosecutor’s office has 30 days to appeal the verdict from the date of its announcement.

In November 2017, the head of the Kharkiv National University of the Air Force, Major General Andrei Alimpiev, was detained on suspicion of embezzling UAH 2.4 million when purchasing fuel. He was declared suspicious under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code (misappropriation, embezzlement or seizure of property through abuse of office).
