Long-time partners of the Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne, Julie Raîche, of the National Bank, and Jean-Sébastien Lamoureux, at Lowe’s, have no difficulty in discussing their role as a regional propellant for this event which has been supporting since l last year four hospital foundations in the Montérégie region. They hope to invite as many people as possible to mobilize for the cause.

“As a propellant, our role is to participate in the challenge, but above all to act as a driving force to contribute to the regional influence of the Generation Challenge,” illustrates Jean-Sébastien Lamoureux, Senior Vice-President, Public Affairs, Asset Protection and Development. sustainable at Lowe’s.

A term that takes on its full meaning as, since last year, this fundraiser imagined by the Fondation Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne now rallies the foundations of the Pierre-Boucher hospital, the Anna-Laberge hospital and the Hôtel-Dieu in Sorel.

“COVID has brought this solidarity, with the reality that he could not see so many charitable events,” summarizes Mr. Lamoureux. We are channeling our efforts! ”

“When the Foundation thought of opening the Challenge to more than one hospital, and therefore allowing others to benefit from it, we were the first partner to give the Foundation a go! mentions Julie Raîche, regional vice-president of Montérégie-Est at Banque Nationale. It’s the idea of going further, it’s super important. “

Motivate and mobilize

Personally, Julie Raîche will participate this year in the Generation Challenge, in which participants, alone or in groups, set a goal in terms of physical activities, healthy lifestyles or other, with the aim of raise money for one of the foundations.

“But my biggest challenge is getting employees and colleagues in the region to register,” she admits.

“We want it to affect everyone. Reaching out and involving people is the message to send! ”

A message that it probably transmits well, while 400 employees of the National Bank are invested in the Generation Challenge in one way or another in Montérégie.

The objective of promoting healthy lifestyles is also echoed by Ms. Raîche.

“We are sending a message to our heroes in the health network, by taking this proactive step to take care of oneself, and by mobilizing to support the hospital.”

In this time of teleworking, Mr. Lamoureux sees the Generation Challenge as an opportunity to recreate links, he shares, directly from his “almost empty” workplace.

“It’s a great opportunity to team building, to motivate everyone to participate and be inspired. We all try to recreate this group cohesion. Not to mention that it is a challenge that people give to themselves. People are looking for that motivation. ”

Close to the community

In the eyes of Mr. Lamoureux, there is a beautiful symbolism for Lowe’s to be associated with the Fondation Hôpital Charles-Le Moyne and thus become a “strong pillar of this institution”. In particular, the company made a commitment in 2017 to offer a donation of $ 150,000 over five years. A period during which the ties with the Foundation were strengthened.

“We are one of the largest head offices on the South Shore,” says Mr. Lamoureux. Our role is to get strongly involved in the community. And that also means something for our employees in the region, who know this hospital, who have experienced beautiful moments there, such as childbirth, or who have been treated there. ”

“It is important to be a good neighbor in the communities where we are anchored,” says Alimentation Couche-Tard, also a regional propellant of the Challenge. We want to contribute to the efforts and have a positive impact on the quality of life of people in our communities. ”
