A woman named Beth from Perth explained that she and her partner had booked a stay at the luxury Vanilla Face & Body Spa at the Rendezvous Hotel complex in Western Australia. They each paid A$287 (€178) and an additional $53 (€33) for a private balcony for couples.
But as it turned out, it was not as luxurious as it sounded. Beth said the balcony looked like a backyard gazebo. A bottle of cheap wine and a cork were placed on the table. There was even dust on the feast, which consisted of biscuits, oranges, pieces of bread and cheese. “If you squint, the dust could theoretically look like sand on a beach,” she said. A video documenting the controversial balcony also shows a small hole in the railing and trash left there. The couple was also surprised that the flowers in the vases were artificial.
Many users think that Beth should ask for a refund because she did not get adequate service for her money. “It reminds me of a dead mall in the suburbs,” wrote one of the commenters. “Normally you have to pay extra for the garbage pit, you’re lucky,” another remarked.
