The couple found 1,000 film cameras and 1,000 lenses in storage

Old film cameras and lenses can sometimes be very valuable items. A couple from Massachusetts who made an unprecedented discovery are convinced of this. Kristen Cusumano works part-time at a tanning salon, and her boss owns several other properties in town. He needed to get rid of a warehouse he owned whose tenant had died a few years ago, so Kristen offered to clear out the warehouse with the idea that she could keep everything in it as payment for the clearance. But he probably had no idea how valuable this warehouse could be.

With her friend Fridrik, she went to a warehouse, which she just knew might have some old cameras. However, there weren’t just a few of them. Just the first few boxes from the warehouse revealed over a hundred cameras. In two weeks, they had all the boxes with cameras at home and in total they found over 1000 old film cameras and about 1000 lenses plus other accessories (cases, flashes, tripods, adapters, filters, caps, magazines, service manuals,…).

Most of the devices were Miranda or Minolta. But there were also Voigtländers, Zorkis, Zeniths, Yashica, Pentax, Praktik, Konica, some Mamiya cameras and several other brands. Cameras are already being sold by a few on eBay server and the top haul was a Minolta MD 135mm 1:2 lens that fetched $2,340.
