The Catholicos of the House of Armenian Catholics of Cilicia, Patriarch Raphael Pedros XXI Minassian, met Dorothy Shea, US ambassador to Lebanon, at the Patriarchate’s headquarters in Geitawi, and congratulated her on “everything she has done for the good of Lebanon, in particular with the American mediator, Amos Hochstein, and the success of the negotiations that will lead to the demarcation of maritime borders, and this historic conquest will lead to positive effects that are in Lebanon’s interest ”.
In the economic aspect, Patriarch Minassian referred to the life situation and what the banks are going through, noting that “Ambassador Shea has confirmed that the banks will soon take the road to recovery”. He explained: “Electricity will soon be in a state of renewal and work is underway to reach an agreement in this context with Egypt and to renew the kilowatt”. The Patriarch replied, underlining that “the people are now unable to pay the renewed bills”.
He said that “Shea confirmed that the country will soon take the path of recovery”, praising the relations between the Patriarchate and the US Embassy.
