Vrchlabí has started to build a municipal water park, the total cost of which can be estimated at up to CZK 190 million. The first infrastructure contract was won by a company co-owned by Vrchlabí Councilor Bedřich Hanousek (ZVON), Czech Television said today, stating that it was preparing the project as chairman of the construction commission. The opposition criticizes it, according to Hanousek, it was an equal competition.
“I am 100% convinced that it was equal competition and that we helped the city reduce the price,” Hanousek told ČT, whose company Stas won the tender for the preparation of infrastructure and communications at the lowest price of 15.7 million crowns and defeated five competitors. . He admitted that his ownership of the winning company was suspicious.
“I was very shocked that this situation occurred, that the story passed, because it is a clear conflict of interest. He, as a deputy, and therefore a councilor, can benefit from it all,” said Jiří Jebavý, a member of the construction commission, on Czech Television. KDU-ČSL.
“The whole thing is not very happy, because it may provoke some speculation that he is preparing the contract for himself, but Mr. Hanousek did not participate in the creation of tender documentation,” said Vrchlabí Mayor Jan Sobotka, also elected for the ZVON movement.
Television said opposition lawmakers called on Hanousek to leave the construction commission at least, and he said he would consider it.
