For the second round which will oppose Emmanuel Macron on April 24 to Marine Le Pen, the imams of the department repeat this time with an appeal “to go to the polls” for French people of Muslim culture and faith. But also to “to mobilize (…) so that no voice is lost and to block the far right”.
“Today, France is torn between two conceptions of freedom. One wants to prohibit Muslims from freely practicing their religion by prohibiting them from dressing or eating according to the precepts of their religion. The other affirms today “Today want to maintain the fundamental principles that allow everyone to live and practice their faith. These two conceptions of secularism are opposed and must challenge Muslims who will once again be called upon because their vote could be decisive for France and the French. The choice is clear, we cannot and should not be tempted to abstain.”writes the Council of the Mosques of the Rhône in a press release signed by Kamel Kabtane, rector of the Great Mosque of Lyon.
If the name of Marine Le Pen is never mentioned, just like that of Emmanuel Macron, we understand that the candidate of the National Rally is not the favorite of the CMR.
