The fraudsters sensed this as an opportunity for quick income. According to “Fakt”, they call pensioners and inform that they represent the Social Insurance Institution. They say that the payment of fourteen will only take place after submitting a relevant request.

Many, as you can imagine, may even feel grateful that someone wants to help them. Unfortunately, this may end tragically for the pensioner.

The tricksters, armed with the personal data provided to them, can then take a loan in the name of the gullible pensioner, which of course he will have to pay back. Similar extortions of loans and borrowings under someone else’s name is a problem that has become more severe in the last year.

As the Financial Market Development Foundation warns, the average amount of a credit fraud attempt is over PLN 25,000. zlotys. For a retiree, it is a huge sum.

Cheat every hour
According to the infoDOK report of the Polish Bank Association, in Poland there is an attempt to incur a financial liability for stolen data almost every hour.

That is why ZUS warns its clients to be careful about similar attempts. The plant says it’s not calling for fourteen.

Recall that the fourteenth pension will go to seniors’ accounts in November. According to ZUS estimates, the money will be credited to the accounts of 9.1 million people. However, the benefit will not be due to everyone in the same amount.

The most, i.e. PLN 1,250.88 gross, will be given to seniors whose pensions do not exceed PLN 2,900 gross. Above this threshold, the “PLN for PLN” mechanism applies. This means that seniors with higher benefits will get the fourteen, but less the amount exceeding the threshold.
