The Cost of Reddit’s API Calls: Why App Builders are Displeased

The only thing that happens is that I find the subreddit owners annoying to be honest.

I must be downvoted because people agree wholeheartedly with all the poor app builders who now have to pay a lot. But the sun rises for nothing. I have no idea what an api call costs, but there are quite a few costs behind it. If Reddit says it would probably cost $1 per user per month, it probably will. Well, then the apps just have to charge something for their service, or increase the price.

Also remember that an api call is even and nice and fast, but reddit has to keep the servers up 24/7 and keep the data forever.

I think, to be honest, we have to get used to the fact that the big ‘free’ guys have to keep their pants on too. Their lenders are also not infinite and they have lived on credit for far too long. Time to bring in money in a regular way. Well, no one likes that news, of course, if you stand at the chance of the payer.
