According to Chinese authorities, among the 31,656 cases of coronavirus infection detected by doctors in the last day, November 23, the vast majority – 27,646 – were asymptomatic, while only 4,010 cases were symptomatic.
The day before, there were 29,157 new cases. Of these, 2,719 are symptomatic and 26,438 asymptomatic infections, which China counts separately.
New local cases of COVID-19 infection in the Middle Kingdom are the highest since the peak in April. Thus, previously, the maximum increase in infected people in the country – 29,411 cases – was recorded on April 14th.
One death from the coronavirus disease has been recorded so far.
In China, the death toll from COVID-19 has already reached 5,232 people.
