“The virus continues a slow progression in the Ardennes”. The prefect of the Ardennes and the territorial director of the ARS made a new situation update this Friday, May 1. There are currently 29 people hospitalized, suspected or affected by Covid 19, and 7 others in intensive care. We lamented 39 deaths in hospital, two more in 24 hours. And 118 people were able to return home.
For Ehpad, of the 30 establishments in the department, 6 are concerned, with 8 deaths (unchanged figure), 62 proven cases and 37 possible cases. Screenings continue in these establishments.
The consultations in covid-19 consultation centers (which exist in Charleville, Sedan, Rethel, Vouziers and Givet) are also continuing but the number of consultations has been decreasing in recent days. We total since the opening of these structures 1,480 consultations and 598 samples taken.
Finally, the classification of the Ardennes in the “red” zone, according to the indicators put in place by the government, is mainly explained by the choice of regionalization of the accommodation capacities of health establishments. Even if the Ardennes seem to be affected to a lesser degree in the number of cases and deaths, belonging to the Grand-Est region, the department is part of a group where the reception capacities are highly demanded. An adjustment of the status of the Ardennes is still possible until May 7.
