Until the coronation of King Charles III. only a few days left. The ceremony starts shortly before 11 a.m. on May 6. It won’t end until less than five hours later. It is already clear that the coronation will be shorter than it was in the case of Queen Elizabeth II. 70 years ago.

A day that not only the British Commonwealth of Nations, but practically the whole world is waiting for. Already on May 6, the British King Charles III will be officially crowned. The exact schedule for the whole day is already clear. Shortly before 11am, personnel and members of the armed forces will begin to gather outside Buckingham Palace.

The King and his wife Camilla will board a gilded carriage and the royal procession will make its way through the streets of London to Westminster Abbey. The procession arrives at the temple just seven minutes before noon, when the whole event starts.

The most important part will be the anointing with the holy oil from Jerusalem. It is not like placing a crown on the king’s head. “The Archbishop of Canterbury takes the holy oil in a precious spoon and anoints the king in three places. The kings were anointed on the head, on the heart and on the right shoulder,” said the deputy editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine Irena Cápová.

At the same time, this moment was not seen on cameras during the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. According to Cápová, this is a rare moment between the monarch, God and the archbishop. Buckingham Palace promises a big surprise. The media and experts speculate whether the surprise will be a public anointing.

Queen Camilla will also be ceremonially crowned after Charles. After the anthem is played, the King and Queen make their way back to Buckingham Palace. The royal couple will arrive at the palace accompanied by more than four thousand people, including the Prince of Wales and his three children. The royal couple will then traditionally appear on the balcony.

The celebrations will continue the next day. Another tradition will be the grand coronation lunch, at which French spinach pie will be served.
