After the isolation room at the Sunan Kalijaga Hospital in Demak was full, the Regency Government Demak, Central Java, added 237 beds or beds for positive patients with the Corona virus or COVID-19. There are several other hospitals that currently have Corona isolation rooms in Demak, including RSI NU and RS Pelita Anugerah.
“We have made preparations for which hospitals, we have added more beds, it is sufficient. Maybe if Sunan Kalijaga Hospital is full, we can go to other hospitals such as RSI NU, Sultan Fatah, and Pelita Anugerah. We still have houses hospitals that can accommodate them all,” explained the Regent of Demak, Dr. Eisti’anah, in the Demak Regency Government’s Bina Praja page, Monday (14/6/2021).
“We have added from these four hospitals a total of 237 beds are ready to be used for COVID-19 patients,” continued Eisti.
It is known from the four hospitals for the isolation of COVID-19 patients, the most available rooms at the Sunan Kalijaga Hospital with 125 isolation rooms.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Demak Health Service, Guvrin Heru Putranto, explained the reason for the high Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) in Demak.
“The BOR does not indicate the level of gravity, but is the occupancy rate. The BOR in Demak was high yesterday because it had to be received from Purwodadi, Kudus, Jepara, and so on. So it was full. Automatically if we gave a place, people would come. The BOR is directly proportional to available beds,” explained Guvrin.
He explained that the hospital could not refuse patients. Especially when the system is already running online.
“Why is it high? Because we can’t refuse (patients). People who are referred from other hospitals, we put them in there. Because we already have the online hospital. Everyone knows how many are filled and how many are not,” he concluded. .
