Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Activists continue to interact on social media about the statement of the Iranian Foreign Minister and the naming of the “Persian Gulf” and the reaction of his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during their press conference in Riyadh.
Political researcher Khalid Shelwan wrote on his page on the X platform (formerly Twitter), commenting: “The silence of the Foreign Minister indicates a solution to aggression through negotiation and understanding, not response and escalation in the meeting, and in front of the world, we do not deal with antagonisms or selling illusions. Is it better to go up to the meeting and go out, we all go back to wars I hope for calm and its solution behind closed doors. Some of the clauses in the China agreement were secret. This is evidence that it is to save face, and we all know who was asking all countries to reconcile with us. Praise be to them, but look at them!So face-saving clauses happen in every agreement between countries in the world so that they don’t.. Finally: You remember how we changed the meeting hall in Tehran because of the picture of the graves, so do you expect that our silence has no significance? Not out of love or hate.”
And the Saudi journalist, Hussein Al-Ghawi, wrote, saying: “Oh, God, cut off your relations with Iran because it said the Persian Gulf! We say that it is the Arab Gulf and Iran claims that it is Persian, even the United Nations in its letters to the Gulf states describes it as Arabic and to Iran describes it as Persian .. So you and I calm down.”
Abdullahian had said at the press conference: “In continuation of previous talks between me and officials and heads of neighboring countries in the south of the Persian Gulf, I put forward the idea of conducting regional dialogue and cooperation, and I put forward this idea with my colleague Faisal bin Farhan.”
