After 11 years at Honda, Marc Márquez will move to the controls of a Ducati Desmosedici GP23 at Gresini Racing (Ducati’s satellite), but Andrea Iannone believes that the Spanish rider will be a source of problems for the team. “I have no doubt about it, Marc Márquez will cause a disaster at Ducati from the first race. His way of racing is a mess, that’s the truth”, said the 34-year-old Italian rider, who competed between 2013 and 2019 in MotoGP. “He gets upset when others do what he usually does. If you behave the way he treats his rivals, he gets upset,” added Iannone (who now competes in Superbikes), speaking to the ‘MCN’ portal.
He continued: “Ducati has experience in managing riders and if Márquez goes too far, he will be the one who will lose. I’m sure it will be very fast, but it won’t be easy for him. I foresee a brutal competition. I see Bezzecchi full of energy; the Pecco [Bagnaia] too, although in a different way. Jorge Martín is a tough guy and Morbidelli, when joining Pramac, will also be tough”, added the Italian, who in 2019 was sentenced to a four-year suspension for doping. By Isabel Dantas
