Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrovwho is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, calls in a video for violence against countries where the Koran is burned.

It was on Telegram on Thursday that Kadyrov called for acts of violence against countries “where our holy book the Koran is allowed to be burned”, writes Berlingske.

Kadyrov is one of Putin’s staunchest supporters when it comes to the war in Ukraine. According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, he further says in the video that “when we have finished in Ukraine, it is time to go to countries where the Koran is violated”.

He also criticizes Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for being too passive when it comes to reacting to the burning of the Koran.

– Why is Turkey, which has the world’s third largest army, silent about this? The election is over. Erdogan won. We consider him our Muslim President. Why is Turkey silent, Kadyrov asks.

Both Denmark and Sweden have been met with violent reactions in many Muslim countries due to several cases of burning the Koran. Among other things, al-Qaeda has called for attacks on the two countries.
