A highly controversial image appears on every receipt from a bar in the province of Verona. Someone posted the photo online and the controversy immediately ensued. Let’s see what the law says about it.
Now we can say it: summer is really ending. The autumn solstice will take place on 21 September and for lovers of the warm season there are just over two weeks left. It was a summer marked by numerous controversies. Certainly one of the most written and spoken words by the media was ‘receipt’. Never as in 2023, hundreds of reports of extras have appeared on social media that have left many speechless. On Eccellenze Meridionali we have reported numerous cases of this kind, most recently that of some take-away pizzas
We can say that it all started with two sensational cases: the first great controversy was generated around it to the toast cut in half. In fact, a bar charged €2 extra for splitting a toast in half (and for providing another saucer). Almost the same thing in a restaurant: a woman saw an extra €2 appear on the receipt for having asked a saucer so that her daughter could taste the trofie al pesto. Today we have collected a report from the province of Verona, of a receipt that does not show shock prices, but which differs in the addition of a controversial image at the top of the receipt.
Verona, the receipt of the nostalgic bar
Yes, because coffee in a bar in the province of Verona costs €1.20. After the uncontrolled increase in inflation, in many bars in Italy the price went from €1 to €1.20 (in extreme cases even €1.50), so nothing abnormal. The political preferences of the bar owners are causing a stir. Someone, in fact, is a nostalgic of the darkest twenty years of recent Italian history. In fact, on the receipt, he inserted the face of a person (not even worthy of being mentioned) that no freethinker really appreciates, given that he was a dictator and, as such, an enemy of freedom.

There really isn’t much to add. Let’s not go into the merits of whether such a receipt is legal or not (in Italy there is the crime of apology for fascism), but learning that in 2023 there is still people nostalgic for a dictator is objectively sad. We sincerely hope that after the social reports, the bar in question in the province of Verona will delete that face from its receipts. It is a dark page in the history of our country and that person should be forgotten by anyone for the infamous laws he promulgated and for the alliance with a German dictator, if possible, worse than him.
