The Controversial BMW E39 with Sharp M3 Design: A Unique Modification

And a lot of people didn’t like her. A relatively large number of fans were bothered by the design of the kidney stones, which extend vertically from the edge of the hood to the bottom of the bumper. They are simply massive.

The controversial design element was subsequently taken over by the sharp M4, and even the M3, i.e. the sporty version of the 3-series sedan.

While a large part of the fans of the BMW brand condemned the prominent design of the front parts, the guy who goes by the name Unici Design on Instagram took a look at the big kidneys. He especially likes the variant from the sharp M3 and M4 models – i.e. in combination with a sports bumper.

And so much so that he decided to install a bumper with large kidneys, originating from the M3, on the venerable BMW 5 Series E39 generation from 1995 to 2004. He chose the 528i version of the sedan, i.e. with a six-cylinder gasoline engine under the hood, which as standard it gives a maximum power of 142 kW and a maximum torque of 280 Nm.

But Unici Design has more ambitious goals, because it wants to rebuild the car in a much more honest manner. It plans wide fenders, large wheels, a wide and low stance, a striking rear spoiler and a large diffuser. You can see the vision of his project in the gallery.

The enthusiast has already started work, for now he is working on the front parts, which he considers to be the most important. He is currently tuning the front bumper so that everything fits as it should. The project of the “rejuvenated” BMW E39 will still need some time.

Do you like the modified BMW E39 with the nose of the current M3?

No, big kidneys are a mistake.
