The Contact Group for the Inter-Party Agreement will only work in Parliament, with no secret meetings

“24 Chasa” asked Rosen Plevneliev for comment after Boyko Borisov announced at a press conference earlier today that a contact group would be formed to seek an agreement between the Euro-Atlantic parties to form a government. Here’s what the former president told us:

Thank you for the confidence you have placed in me to join a contact group to seek agreement on principles and priorities for a future regular government. Its composition has yet to be formalized, with the group remaining open to proposals from other pro-European and Euro-Atlantic parties. The contact group will begin its work after the formation of the 48th Regular National Assembly, meeting and holding press conferences on the results achieved only in the construction of the National Assembly. The party headquarters will not be visited and the meetings will not be held in other places, but only in front of the eyes of Bulgarian citizens and the media, because they will work on trust and transparency. The contact group will hold meetings with all pro-European and democratic forces to seek agreement on principles and priorities on which a future government will have to intervene to overcome crises and stabilize the state. The goal is to change the approach, restore dialogue, work for trust, seek unification around basic principles, national priorities and working solutions.

President Plevneliev
