• Constructora Salfa beat Bravo Izquierdo 4-2 in the final of the Men’s Championship, while the “Salfa Natales” team won the Women’s Championship, beating “Salfa Edificación” 9-2.

This weekend culminated in the Magallanes region the Construction League, an initiative of member companies of the Chilean Chamber of Construction that aims to promote camaraderie, physical activity and healthy living among its collaborators.

The last matches of the Construction League 2022 were played on the fields of Club Deportivo Magallanes. Constructora Salfa and Bravo Izquierdo met in the final of the men’s championship.

Ten minutes into the match, Salfa was already winning 2-0, but then Bravo Izquierdo discounted to go into half-time with just a 1-goal difference. A few minutes after the start of the second half, Bravo Izquierdo equalized the score at 2-2. La Constructora Salfa put the score back in their favor as they ended up winning the championship 4-2 in the final.

Omar Vargas, president of the CChC Punta Arenas, attended the finals and presented the medals and cups to the winning teams, and underlined that the Construction League “is a good example for generating bonds, for the spirit of camaraderie, the commitment of the players and the participation of the family.It’s nice to play sport after two years of the pandemic, and the best thing is that we’re back with this championship in its women’s edition.

The teams “Salfa Natales” and “Salfa Edificación” were the protagonists of the final match of the Women’s Championship of the Construction League. “Salfa Natales”, the big favourite, did not disappoint and won 9-2.

“It was a difficult match, more than the one we played last week, I think due to the nerves of a final. Luckily we managed to win. We are very happy because we come to Natales to play this tournament. Some of our team, three of us, play football regularly and coincidentally we work in construction, that’s why we are in this league and we motivate our colleagues, many of whom have practiced this sport for the first time,” described Valeria Agüero , of the “Salfa Natales” team and top scorer of the tournament.

In addition to the cups and medals for the teams that reached the top three places, various prizes were presented during the awards ceremony. In the men’s championship, Benjamín Valdivia (Constructora Salfa) was recognized as the top scorer of the tournament (8 goals); Carlos Ruiz (Bravo Izquierdo) as a Fair Play player; and the fence least beaten was that of Constructora Salfa (goalkeepers Cristofer Igor and Francisco Mansilla). In the women’s championship, however, Valeria Agüero (Builder Salfa) stood out as the top scorer of the tournament (9 goals); Isabel Pössel (Salfa Edificación) as Fair Play player; and the least beaten fence was that of Salfa Natales (goalkeeper Daisy Alou).

The winning teams will receive sportswear as a prize and a gift card at the local supermarket for each team member.
